Who will be running the sessions?

The sessions will be led by Helen Baskeyfield, a Forest School practitioner and experienced primary school teacher. Helen's experience ranges from teaching within specialist provision for children with severe and profound and multiple learning disabilities to working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds, the early years and KS1. Her interests lie in the alternative approaches to education with influences from Steiner, Montessori and the Reggio Emilia model. Through her teaching, she facilitates a nurturing and supportive environment through a child-led approach which takes account of individual interests and learning styles.

Helen will be accompanied by a team of professionals including those with experience of working within the teaching profession, from Early Years specialists to those involved in youth work and adult education. Other members of the team are experienced in the field of educational project management and sustainable development, outdoors and environmental education.

All members hold current enhanced CRB checks. Activities are fully risk assessed and we have Public Liability insurance. Helen is First Aid trained and holds a current ITC Outdoor Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

'School in the Woods'...a natural approach to learning!
